The law firm of Russell S. Babcock was formed to provide the highest quality of criminal defense services at reasonable prices. I have practiced law for more than twenty years. I am fluent in Spanish  (Espanol) and serve both the English speaking and Hispanic community. 

I graduated from the University of California ­ Davis in the top 1% of my class and with Highest Honors. I am admitted to the California, Alaska, and Colorado bars. I have tried more than one hundred and fifty jury trials and practiced law in more than ten states. I am one of the few attorneys who divides my practice between trials and appeals in state and federal court. I have handled four death penalty cases and very complex cases including complex banking and business conspiracy cases as well as the most complex drug cases.

I am a tenacious litigator and I am willing to travel anywhere to achieve justice. I have traveled to the Dominican Republic, Panama, Ecuador, Colombia, Russia, and Mexico to help my clients. I am also a former prosecutor and attorney general which helps me to understand how the government makes it charging decisions and adds credibility to me as a trial attorney.

In 1995 I became one of the few state certified criminal specialists in San Diego County. In 1998 I won the prestigious award for "Criminal Appellate Attorney of the Year" given by the San Diego Criminal Defense Bar Association.

In short, I am well-qualified to work on the most complex of criminal cases, but I also work on less complicated cases because every case is important to the client.
